Epsom Derby Tips from Tom Lee - Selection Live

Derby Pointers and Trends

The Epsom Derby rarely produces a real shock as the main contenders have established themselves in the Epsom Derby ante post betting prior to the race. It is well worth noting that there have been five favourites winning the Derby since the year 2000 so punters wanting to get on the favourite should feel fairly confident of their money. In that time the biggest priced winner of the race was Sindaar in 2000 who won for John Oxx at 7/1. In 2009 we saw the brilliant Sea The Stars win as favourite at odds of 11/4 which of course now look like fantastic odds bearing in mind what he achieved the rest of the season.

There are also a few Derby Trainers well worth keeping an eye on this year who have won the race in recent years. Sir Michael Stoute won back-to-back Derby's in 2003 and 2004 with Kris Kin and North Light and of course Workforce winning in 2010. Aiden O'Brien likewise won back-to-back Derby's in 2001 and 2002 with Galileo and High Chaparral, he will be looking for another win this season with the likes of Camelot going for Ballydoyle.
