Dante Stakes Odds 2025
The Dante Stakes at York Racecourse is the feature race of York's May meeting and is a Group Two race run over 1 mile 2 furlongs and open to three year old Colts and Fillies. Historically, the Dante Stakes has become known as one of the leading Derby Trials run in Britain in the run up to the Epsom Derby and has produced the most Derby winners of all the Trials in the past twenty years.
Erhaab (1994), Benny the Dip (1997), North Light (2004), Motivator (2005) and Authorized (2007) have all won both the Dante Stakes and Epsom Derby providing as much evidence as anyone needs as to why the form of this race is crucial when trying to find the Derby winner.

Dante Stakes Derby Form
Cape Blanco, one of many potential runners from the Aiden O'Brien was hugely impressive in winning the Dante Stakes at York for 2025. Ridden by Johnny Murtagh he came home to win well ahead of the likes of Workforce and Coordinated Cut who themselves may head to Epsom with good chances. Murtagh was quick to praise Cape Blanco after the win in the Dante and that is a good indication of his chances in the Derby.
