Epsom Derby Form Guide
Impressive winner on debut at Tipperary before he destroyed the field to win the Chester Vase by a street on eye catching recent run. Leading contender if you believe that form and by a Derby winner in Camelot so should suit Epsom.
Only one win from five starts last year but improved over the winter and shaped like a Derby horse on two winning starts so far in 2019. Derrinstown winner is also to be taken seriously and every chance he will love the step up to 1m4f on the Downs of Epsom.
Anthony Van Dyck
Took high order last year as a juvenile with three wins from seven starts and returned to destroy the field in the Lingfield Derby Trial on only start this term for Aidan O'Brien. Yet another son of Galileo who has every chance of winning the Derby based on stamina and pedigree and appears to have plenty of improvement to come.
No runs as a juvenile but three runs this term and appears to be improving with every passing day for Hughie Morrison. Dante win threw the horse into the Derby picture and no reason he can't improve again and as a son of New Approach, the Epsom pedigree is clearly there.
King Power are a growing influence on the sport at the moment and they look to have a genuine Derby contender in the form of Bangkok for Andrew Balding. A Classic Trial winner at Sandown in good style, he will need to step up again but he is well bred by Australia and might just be under the radar heading into the big race.
Yet another Aidan O'Brien Galileo colt who could easily be in the mix at Epsom despite his disappointing run at York when only 4th in the Dante Stakes. One or two setbacks over the winter have hampered Japan so he could improve for that run on the Knavesmire so while he will need to step up on last time out, don't rule him out.
