Epsom Derby Contenders 2026 - Roderic O'Connor
Roderic O'Connor is yet another major Epsom Derby contender from the Aidan O'Brien yard over in Ireland and he could be a major player in the race if he hits top form. He was a massively exciting juvenile last year with a second place behind Frankel to his name as well as a Group 1 win over in France in the Criterium International back in October on his CV. Those two performances in particular heightened the excitement around him heading into his Classic season but he has been inconsistent so far in his two runs.
Latest Roderic O'Connor Epsom Derby 2026 Odds
Roderic O'Connor was one of the main stars of the 2026 Guineas betting on his first start this season but he was well below his best as he could only trail in 11th on ground that appeared a little fast for him. He bounced back last time out though with a fine win in the Irish 2026 Guineas with Jockey Joseph O'Brien giving him a fine front running ride. It remains to be seen how strong that renewal was and O'Brien still has to decide whether to send the horse to Epsom or France for the Derby but he is clearly a talented horse on his day.
